Steven Kent Rockwell is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of The ExOne Company. He has held this investment and position since 2008. Mr. Rockwell has been Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Venture Capital, Inc. since 1983. He operates or invests in a variety of businesses in addition to ExOne including Rockwell Forest Products Inc., Strata Products Worldwide (an underground mining services company), Appalachian Timber Service (supplying quality timber products for railroads), Strata Proximity Systems (providing proximity detection and avoidance systems for mining operations), and Pro Grass, LLC, (a synthetic turf supplier.)
Mr. Rockwell recently retired from Argon ST as Vice Chairman. Argon ST manufactures electronic intelligence, communications, and imaging systems for government and military applications. He is former Chairman, CEO, and President of two publically traded companies, Astrotech International Corporation, where he served from 1986 to 1997, and SensysTech as Chairman and CEO from 1998 through 2005, He also served as a Group President and member of the board of directors of Rockwell International Inc. from 1973 to 1983.
Mr. Rockwell earned a B.A. in both economics and business from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and attended graduate school at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development
Brian Smith is the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at The ExOne Company where he is responsible for Corporate Development by providing strategic input on growth and restructuring initiatives. Mr. Smith joined the company in 2013 as CFO and Treasurer, a position served until 2018年7月. Chief Operating Officer
John Hartner joined The ExOne Company as Chief Operating Officer in 2018年11月. Mr. Hartner has led technology companies around the world for 30 years in the electronics, cleantech, automation and digital printing industries. Almost half of this time, he lived and worked in Asia and Europe. He founded Digital Industrialist LLC, a company that advises and invests in digital manufacturing businesses. In the 3D industry, he served as Chief Operating Officer of EnvisionTEC, a healthcare 3D printing leader. Previously he had a 14-year career leading business units of Dover Corporation, most recently as President and CEO of Dover Printing & Identification Segment. Prior to that, he served in various leadership roles with FMC Technologies and Rockwell International. He received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.
Douglas Zemba is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at The ExOne Company where he is responsible for all financial management and accounting matters. Mr. Zemba has served as our Chief Accounting Officer and Assistant Treasurer since March 26, 2013, through which he has had responsibility for the Company’s global accounting and financial reporting. Mr. Zemba joined the Company on January 1, 2013 as Director of Finance shortly before the Company’s initial public offering on February 7, 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Zemba was a Senior Manager in the Assurance practice of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (“PwC”). Mr. Zemba joined PwC in 2003 holding various positions within the Assurance practice servicing both public and private clients in the manufacturing, industrial products, and metals industries. Mr. Zemba received a B.S. degree in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002.
Mr. Helfrich serves as ExOne’s Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, he is responsible for global marketing and sales activities, including commercial processes world-wide. Since 2012, he has held a variety of roles within the Company. Prior to his current role, Mr. Helfrich served as Commercial Director – Indirect Printing – where he was accountable for all commercial processes. He previously held roles as Director of Global Sales, where he engaged in all global sales activities and Director of Global Direct Printing including: sales, marketing, and product development functions. Mr. Helfrich joined ExOne Company in 2012 as a Business Analyst, and was significantly involved in the Company’s preparation and ultimate IPO and secondary offering. Mr. Helfrich earned an M.B.A. with concentration in Operations Research from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and a B.S.B.A from Duquesne University.
General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Loretta L. Benec, Esq. joined ExOne in 2017年10月. Most recently, Ms. Benec has provided corporate and commercial legal services as General Counsel to Cumberland Highstreet Partners, Inc., a manufacturing consulting business. Previously, Ms. Benec was Assistant General Counsel & Secretary for RTI International Metals, Inc. (now Arconic Inc.), a NYSE-listed global supplier of advanced titanium products primarily to the commercial aerospace market. Prior to RTI, Ms. Benec enjoyed a more than twelve-year career in the law department of H. J. Heinz Company (now The Kraft Heinz Company), a NYSE-listed global packaged food company. Ms. Benec received a B.A. in History with High Honors, cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1992 and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1995.

Since 2017年11月 Roland Ladewig is CTO (Chief Technology Officer), Managimng Director and Director After Sales of ExOne GmbH. In the past, he worked as Managing Director of medium size companies in affiliated corporations within the segment Machine- und Plant Engineering, Automation, Industry 4.0 and Energy. He had a leading role in strategic alignment und restructuring of global sectors (divisions), optimizing processes related to complete change management, harmonizing and including local business units into the main strategic goals, as well as post-merger integration.
As the VP of Metal Commercial Products, Mr. Pierce is responsible for Global Metal Machine Sales, Manufacturing and Service and Metal Part Sales and Manufacturing. Mr. Pierce previously served as COO - North America and Japan for ExOne. From 2008 - 2013, he served in the role of VP global supply chain for Biomet 3i (med device) and Laird technologies (high tech). From 1997 - 2008, Mr. Pierce worked in various director-level business leadership roles, primarily in the Asia Pacific, for Owens Corning where he led the startup of 4 businesses and 7 factories. Mr. Pierce has an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Babson College.
Rick Lucas has served as the Chief Technology Officer for The ExOne company since 2012年6月. Mr. Lucas has responsibility for the corporation’s R&D investments and manages the New Markets Group. Prior to joining The ExOne Company, he served in various positions at Touchstone Research Laboratory from 2001年10月 to 2012年6月, where he directed operations and research activities and served as Director of Operations from 2010年3月 to 2012年6月.
